P45 SIG Healthcare Management and Governance: Hybrid Future for the Healthcare Sector

Description
Recent external shocks, such as the COVID-19 pandemic, have uncovered the fragile nature of modern societies and, particularly, healthcare systems. Alongside further collaboration between governments and businesses as well as public–private–civil society co-operation, this calls for strategies aimed to both foster resilience and innovation to create public value(s) for individuals as well as society.
The Special Interest Group (SIG) Healthcare Management (HCM) invites submissions (micro, meso or macro perspectives) on the following (not exclusive) topics faced by the sector:
- Health systems reforms, especially focused on resiliency
- New governance models, co-production, and hybrid institutional systems
- Performance Measurement/management
- Role of technology/value-based healthcare
- Trends of digitalization in the healthcare sector
- (Public) Value creation and sustainability practices through health promotion
- Patient-centered organizations/care
- Integrated care (including clinical pathways)
- Initiatives targeting chronicity, frailty, multimorbidity
- Emergency and crisis planning/management
- Primary care models/innovation.
The panel welcomes quantitative, qualitative, and mixed-methods approaches with a strong linkage to the current literature and the most recent academic debate.
We have two formats in mind (please advise in your abstract which one you would prefer):
- Standard panel format with presentation followed by an audience Q+A round for advanced contributions and innovative submissions as well as for emerging work and papers featuring preliminary results
- Poster presentation session for short presentation of research work
The best (submitted) papers will be eligible for fast track in Health Services Management Research.
