Description
The studies in health systems assessment have been increased, crossing different areas due to the complexity and number of influencing factors (Paschoalotto et al., 2023). In recent years, 2 new concepts also entered the health systems assessment discussion: sustainability and resilience. When we look at the health systems dimensions to analyze sustainability and resilience, we observe the governance, financing, resources generation (workforce, physical structure and medicines and technology) and service delivery (Papanicolas et al., 2022). In this sense, all the health system sustainability and resilience dimensions cross with the public management models, improving their performance (Massuda et al., 2023).
Abstract
This panel wants to cross the theoretical framework provided by the public health and public management area, generating innovative approaches to explain the health systems sustainability and resilience. In public health, the theoretical framework involves the main reports (World Health Organization, World Bank, OECD, European Group of Experts, etc.) and scientific papers (public health top journals) in health systems assessment. In public management, the background includes the main models used to evaluate public organizations.
We want to incentivize mixed methods studies, due to the complexity of the phenomenon, but also, we are going to accept qualitative and quantitative methods.
